How to be grateful for your body right now
And create the body you actually want by that
We often feel that there’s all kinds of things wrong with us. Too big, too skinny, flat nose, bad skin, crooked teeth, pimples, moles, wrinkles… The list goes on and on.
The more you look, the more you’ll find. And everything, even the tiniest freckle, adds to us feeling bad about our bodies. It’s like we’re constantly finding evidence for how flawed we are. The belief that we’re not beautiful, not good enough, not worthy even, gets stronger and stronger with every negative thought we have. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy: we think we are no good, so we are no good.
It’s a belief that is wide spread, a belief that lashes itself onto our very identity and becomes a truth within us. A truth that leads us to dieting frantically, to poor self worth, to having a ghastly relationship with ourselves, and in too many cases, it leads to eating disorders, disease and even suicide.
And even if it doesn’t spin out of control, your mind is powerful enough to give you more pimples simply because you expect to see them. If you think it’s true that you have bad skin, it will be true.
