I believe it was Einstein who said:

One cannot solve a problem from the same level it was created.

Meaning: If a problem arises from the way we think, we cannot solve it by thinking the same way. If our circumstances create a problem, chances are we need to change something about the circumstances to fix it.

And we are totally capable of doing so! The only thing is, that changing our thinking and perspectives can be challenging, because we tend to have blind spots. We are so used to our ways, to our manners, to our patterns and ways of thinking, that we can feel we are stuck.

And the more we sink into being stuck, the more we latch on to the problem and grip it tightly as a pitbull, the more difficult it gets.

If you want to start exercising more, you can drown in thoughts like: ‘I don’t have the time, I don’t have the money, I don’t have the right clothes, I cannot drive to the gym, I’m embarrassed to go there because people will see me, I don’t know how the equipment works, I need to relax too because work is so busy, Covid is making it impossible…’ Bla, bla, bla. It’s all thinking from one level, the level of can’t, difficult, stuck. One thought initiates hundreds more.
