The Waiting Game

There’s really only now — what will you do with the time you’re given?

Yesterday, I was doing my 5-minute ab workout. I’ve been using an app for it for a few weeks now — ever since I got tired of having so much belly compared to the rest of me, hahaha. On the first day of using the app I noticed the time between exercises was quite good, except for the last one. All exercises were things like sit-ups, on your back or bottom, but the last one was planking. The few seconds I had to turn over, find a good spot on my mat and manoeuvre myself into position, were not enough. So I made the between time longer so I could plank for the full 30 seconds.

Yes, very die-hard of me ;)

But back to yesterday… I did the exercises, and all of a sudden I realized I was waiting to start every next item. It took about a second to see what exercise was next, and after that I’d just be sitting/laying there, waiting for the little ring to tell me to start.

And it annoyed me that I had to wait, that I was wasting my precious time doing so.

Ridiculous!!

I was doing it myself. I was waiting for that ring, but why? I could just start and simply keep going until the end ring? That meant I’d be doing my exercise longer too — more benefit in every way! And besides, it was ME who’d set the between time. It was mu own…
